Dear Bible Study Leader,
Our church pastors were discussing the idea of everyone studying the same thing, during the time we are waiting on God to send us a senior pastor. We thought the study of “Experiencing God” would be good to get everyone together on the same page. We wanted to get your thoughts on this. We could order the literature and have our Bible Fellowship Groups study from January through March. This would give you time to close what you are studying now and prepare people for the new year. It could be exciting to have all your groups working on the same study for one quarter. This could help unite us as one church body.
I really have no idea how long it is going to take to find a new pastor. I thought it would take a year, but it has been 10 months, and not sure how much longer it will be. The Pastor Search Team has found that it is more difficult than they originally thought. They have been meeting every week. They have heard many, many sermons. They have talked to a few people, but have not come close to any decisions, yet. Even if they presented a pastor to us, having everyone on the same page could be exciting.
This is the first time this idea is being shared. We discussed the idea in a staff meeting among the pastors (Julio, Derrek, Juan, and myself). It is a good idea, but we need your input. What do you think? Let us know. Don’t take too long making up your mind. We would have to order the material. This would be a major move for the entire church. This would be for all of our church, including the small groups that meet outside on Sunday morning. Please let me or one of our church pastors know. It really would take some work to put together.
