Sharing God In The Journey

The final words of Jesus before His ascension carry profound weight for our lives today. We're challenged to consider how we can be faithful witnesses in every sphere of influence - with coworkers, neighbors, family, and strangers alike. The message centers on Acts 1:8, where Jesus promises the Holy Spirit's power to help us become witnesses from our immediate surroundings to the ends of the earth. What makes this particularly compelling is the exploration of how Jesus Himself modeled this mission. He didn't wait for people to come to Him in religious settings; instead, He went to dinner parties, hung out with tax collectors and sinners, and made relationships with the messiest people His primary pursuit. The religious leaders were scandalized, but Jesus made it clear: it's not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. We're invited to follow this same pattern - accepting people without judgment, making lost people part of our everyday lives, going where they gather, and sharing our stories of transformation. The Church of Antioch serves as our inspiration, a congregation so committed to sharing the gospel that within two years, everyone in the vast region of Asia Minor had heard about Jesus. This wasn't through mass media or sophisticated campaigns, but through ordinary believers faithfully sharing one conversation at a time. We're called to that same faithful witness, making it our primary pursuit to build genuine relationships with those far from God and invite them into the life-changing community of faith.
